How to get your workplace (or boss) to pay for your learning

Getting specialist training can help set you apart in any industry. And when it comes to ecommerce - I think it's even more important!

Those who have been in the industry for awhile know that ecommerce professionals have a BROADDDD range of skills. From marketing, trade, data, web development and project management, to other areas that touch online retail such as product, customer service and warehousing. We're the Jack and Jills of every trade and wouldn't have it any other way.

If you're anything like me (I'm betting you are) you found yourself in an ecommerce career almost by accident. I had a background in retail before moving into digital marketing...then you guessed it, ecommerce. Although incredible, this led to huge gaps in my knowledge - because who has the time to learn about everything all at once...am I right?

Taking control of your professional development is such a good way to upskill and set yourself apart in the industry. But sometimes funding your own learning and development can be tricky. A lot of us have huge HECS debts or have already forked out plenty of cash for our studies so far. But good news is, a lot of brands are happy to help front some or all of the costs.

If you're not sure how to start the conversation, download our guide on "How to get your workplace to pay for your learning".

And if you haven't yet, check out our short courses and Lunch & Learns. They're super affordable and comprehensive and we'd guess your boss will think so too ;)
